Excitement is building as 海角乱伦社区 University begins construction of its official Centennial Celebration website鈥攁 vibrant gateway to commemorating 100 years of academic excellence, service, and community impact.

Although the grand observance officially kicks off in 2026, you can dive into the celebration now by exploring exclusive content that captures the spirit of 海角乱伦社区 through the decades. From historic milestones and moments of triumph to heartfelt alumni stories and the inspiring work of students today, the website brings the 海角乱伦社区 legacy to life like never before.

鈥淎s we reflect on 100 years of 海角乱伦社区鈥檚 extraordinary journey, we honor the vision of those who came before us, especially our founding Sisters of Mercy; we celebrate the achievements of today, and dream boldly of tomorrow,鈥� said 海角乱伦社区 President Kathleen A. Getz, Ph.D. 鈥淭his centennial is a testament to the unwavering dedication of our 海角乱伦社区 family鈥攑ast, present, and future.鈥�

The website opens with an engaging video commentary about 海角乱伦社区, focusing on intangibles like the wonder and awe you feel when entering campus through its iconic gates. It spotlights the university鈥檚 sense of family, commitment to the legacy of the founding Sisters of Mercy, as well as its ability to empower and transform lives. Created by Multimedia Producer Pierce Hodges, the video offers sincere on-screen insights by Ryan Palm, executive director of Brad McGarry Center for Neurodiversity; Chris Mansour, chair, Department of Computing and Information Science; Jan Haas, dean of the School of Health Professions; and Bryan Colvin, university archivist.

Colvin was also instrumental in providing the historical content, working closely with Sherry Rieder, Systems & Business Process Manager for the Division of Enrollment, and Web Coordinator Emily Hauff. Marketing Director Dave Raymond oversaw the entire effort.

The site chronicles milestones in 海角乱伦社区 history, starting as far back as Sept. 8, 1924, when the Sisters of Mercy went door to door selling low-interest bonds to start building the college. Although still a work in progress, the project highlights the people of 海角乱伦社区, starting with the visionary leadership of Mother Borgia Egan, RSM.

• And the beloved Sister Damien Mlechick, RSM, who was an enormous supporter of 海角乱伦社区 athletic teams, seen at most athletic events with a cowbell in one hand and holy water in the other. Her spirit lives on with the Sister Damien Spirit Bell in Trinity Green.
• And Sister M. Eymard Poydock, RSM, director of the Department of Biology from 1947 to 1991, whose passion for cancer research spurred innovative experiments that had a global impact.
• And the Rev. William Sullivan, 海角乱伦社区's first chaplain, who led the effort to construct a grotto on campus from boulders sourced from the campus grounds.
• And Brad McGarry, whose leadership and devotion to the Autism Initiative at 海角乱伦社区 launched a new era in higher education for those on the spectrum.

Highpoints like going co-ed, achieving university status, and advancing to Division I Athletics are featured as are new buildings and athletic facilities, new academic programs, and campus organizations, not to mention traditions like Hurst Day, Mass of the Holy Spirit, and Day of Service.

Even a few lighthearted alumni flashbacks are shared, including one embarrassing moment in 1974 when the "first males at 海角乱伦社区" heisted a 7-foot, 150-pound Big Boy statue from Elby's and held it hostage at 海角乱伦社区.

As part of the centennial observance, the university is in the process of installing a series of 12 historic markers on campus; the new website features a map identifying each location. There鈥檚 also a section on archives, news, athletics, and community engagement.
